From whimsical events to cultural celebrations, there's something for everyone throughout the year. January:

February:

  • 28th Annual Lowenfeld-Akeson Early Years Symposium February 3 · 9am - 3:15pm

    • Tickets to the Symposium are $50 for professionals and $20 for families and students. Families are encouraged to request a scholarship from the Silverman Scholarship Fund to attend the Symposium Get Tickets Here

  • Union City - Father and Daughter Sweetheart Ball February 2, 2024

    • 9th Annual Father and Daughter Sweetheart ball. Registration is $20. Registration is required. Mommies and Grandmas may not attend! Get Tickets Here

March:

  • Fremont Holi Celebration


April:

  • Fremont Compost Giveaway Day April 7, 2024 (not a festival but one a lot of neighbors take advantage of) City of Fremont and the Fremont Recycling & Transfer Station (41149 Boyce Road, Fremont, CA 94538) invite Fremont households participating in the organics recycling program to collect two (2) FREE bags of compost from 8 a.m. – noon (or while supplies last)

    • Eligibility - Drive through and show your most recent Republic Services garbage bill as proof of eligibility.


  • Fremont Earth Day Festival April 20 11am to 3pm Fremont Downtown Event Center & Plaza 3500 Capitol Ave. Fremont

    • Learn about environmental issues and discover sustainable practices through educational exhibits, interactive activities, and live music. This eco-friendly festival, attracting over 15,000 participants, is a fun and informative way to celebrate Earth Day.

  • Fremont Baisakhi Celebration at the Fremont Gurdwara

    • Baisakhi is also a celebration of the foundation of Sikhism. Gurudwaras are beautifully decorated on this occasion and kirtans are organized in the form of processions. Prayers of gratitude are said on Baisakhi for the harvesting of good crops and community harvesting is also done. The bhangra dance is also very popular during this time and several fairs are also held in different parts. It is also customary to take baths in holy water bodies during this time and start lives fresh and anew. Selfless services in various places for the needy are also done at this event and various social events are also held.


May:

  • Fremont Street Eats

    • Gather with friends and family and savor the diverse culinary delights offered by a rotating lineup of food trucks. This weekly event, drawing in crowds of over 500 people, is a perfect way to try something new and enjoy a casual dining experience.


June:

  • Fremont Burger and Brew Fest

    • Will feature sampling from bay area breweries and distilleries, mouthwatering burgers and sliders, gourmet snack vendors, local business booths, art and craft vendors, and live entertainment, including The Burger Throwdown - a burger cooking competition.

July:


  • Fremont Summer Concerts in the Park: (Every Thursday evening, July through August)

    • Pack a picnic blanket and relax under the stars as you enjoy free concerts featuring renowned and local musicians. This beloved summer tradition, attracting over 10,000 music lovers, brings the community together for evenings filled with music and laughter.


August:

  • Fremont Festival of the Arts & Crafts August 4th and 5th, 2024

    • The Fremont Festival of Art and Wine is the biggest event held each year, attracting over 30,000 attendees every year. 

    • Art Explosion: Prepare to be dazzled by an incredible array of over 200 talented artists and crafters from across the Bay Area and beyond. Whether you're drawn to paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry, or unique artisan creations, you'll find something that speaks to your heart. 

    • Wine & Beer Oasis: Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or simply enjoy exploring new tastes, the beer and wine garden offers something for every palate. 

    • Gourmet Getaway: Fuel your artistic and culinary adventures with a diverse array of food booths. Grab a juicy burger, savor delectable Asian dumplings, or indulge in sweet treats – the choice is yours!

    • Live Music Enchantment: From smooth jazz and lively Latin beats to energetic pop and classic rock, the musical tapestry adds another layer of magic to the already vibrant atmosphere.

    • Family Fun Zone: From bouncy castles and face painting to balloon animals and interactive games, there's plenty to keep little ones engaged and giggling.


  • Fremont - Niles Annual Antique Faire and Flea Market Last Sunday of August every year

    • Hundreds of vendors from all over the Bay Area and beyond sell Antiques, Collectibles, Art, Crafts, Home & Garden Décor, Toys Food, etc. This is a family event attended by several thousand attendees.

  • Fremont - Niles Spring Fever Car Show

  • Union City Festival of Obon, presented by The Southern Alameda County Buddhist Church

    • Featured entertainment will include Buddhist dancing and music. There will be authentic Japanese food for sale.


September:


October:

  • Fremont Mission San Jose Chamber of Commerce - Olive Festival

    • Enjoy food, live music & entertainment, arts & crafts, kids’ activities, beer & wine. Enjoy shopping for everything from olive oil and olive wood products to gourmet and specialty foods and honey.

  • Fremont The Candle Lighters Ghost House

    • Be brave and traverse through this ghost house on your own, or for the weak of heart ask a fairy god mother to walk with you, to ward of the demons.

    • Candle Lighters is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to raising funds for non-profit groups and community-based projects in the Tri-City Community. (Fremont, Newark & Union City). We consider ourselves a service and a social organization. Learn more about our history, and how you can become a member. Join us as we celebrate 53 Years of Frightful Family Fun!

  • Fremont Niles Alter Walk

  • Union City The Running Dead 5K Fun Run

    • I hope this is an annual event because the idea of being chased by Zombies during Halloween season sounds like fund. They’re back! The Zombies are hungry and out for your flags! The Union City Youth Commission will be spread out at select locations along the race trail dressed as Zombies, and they will be out to get your flag.


November:

  • Fremont Gurdwara Diwali Event.

    • Expect lots of people, lots of food and festivities. Parking is scarce so carpool or uber to the event.


December:

  • Fremont Niles Festival of Lights Parade

    • The Christmas season kicks off in Niles with the annual Festival of Lights Parade on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Sponsored by the members of the Niles community and the Fremont community at large, this wonderful holiday tradition features over 60 unique floats and other entries, marching bands, specialty service units, costumed characters and of course, an appearance by the man himself

  • Fremont Mission San Jose Chamber of Commerce Christmas Tree Lighting

  • Fremont Gurdwara's New Year's Eve Festivity 3pm to 1am

    • Expect lots of people, lots of food and festivities. Parking is scarce so carpool or uber to the event.

  • Newark’s Annual Tree Lighting at Newark Civic Center

    • Join us for performances, hot cocoa & cookies, crafts, games, photo booth, toy drive & raffle.  Activities & crafts and Tree lighting.
